Summary: The research analyzes the working conditions and relationships of Social Workers working in Basic Health Units (UBS) in the city of Vitória/ES following the Covid-19 pandemic, with the increasing incorporation of digital- based technologies. This is a Case Study, with a qualitative approach, and documentary research of official documents from the Municipal Health
Department of Vitória/ES, with information regarding the actions developed in the municipality of Vitória to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. To select the empirical corpus, we’ve read the 41 regulatory frameworks, which include decrees and municipal ordinances presented by the Action Plan to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Of these documents, 5 ordinances have guidelines related to the organization of the work process of social workers in the municipality of Vitória/ES, during the pandemic. We also used questionnaires with social workers working in Basic Health Units in Vitória/ES. Both the documents and the questionnaires indicate that the UBS needed to adapt to a new work rhythm as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, among these changes are the time to carry out the work, the content of this work process and the transformation towards of
the work of social workers. This conclusion expresses the concrete reality of increased use of technologies linked to new modalities of service, the increase and complexity of demands, added to the precariousness of working conditions and relationships that were already underway prior to the pandemic and in line with the dynamics of accumulation of the capitalist mode of production. It appears from the professionals' reports that work has become more intense in terms of the expenditure on physical, cognitive and emotional capabilities. This trend is made up of a digital arsenal that provides more profitability for capital, which leads to the conclusion that a large number of social workers are also forced to incorporate the use of these technologies, work even longer hours and bear the costs of the means of production of the your job. Which expresses a
generalized trend of work in the capitalist world.
