Summary: Marx, not only a theorist of economics and politics, he was above all a militant for the emancipation of the working class. As a theorist and politician, Marx had never had the chance to engage deeply in his plan to dedicate himself to the criticism of the State and politics, but his views on the subject permeate his work, being in view of attentive readers. Democracy has always been there, this political form that aspires to give everyone the right to a voice is the great dream of humanity, and as a critical genius Marx could not avoid such a debate. Starting from historical materialism, Marx made a critique of political economy and politics, and thus addressing capitalist society, he made a critique of the bourgeois democratic form, liberal democracy. Marxian criticism is always directed towards the constitution of a society WHERE human emancipation can in fact be achieved, and using historical materialism Marx
deconstructs the structures that the capitalist mode of production builds to maintain the division of society into classes. The present work seeks, through the joint analysis of the Marxian critique of politics and political economy, to show that Marx is a critic of democracy, and as a critic he points out with his method the contradictions of the bourgeois democratic form and the horizons for its overcoming in the figure of the dictatorship of the proletariat and its path to lead to the proletarian democratic form.
